About the Author

Lauren Durham is a fourth-year Literary Journalism and International Studies student at the University of California Irvine. With a minor in Criminology and Law, she takes an interest in analyzing how news events tangibly impact society in lasting, subconscious ways. This inclination towards assessing the intricacies of human relationships lends itself to the origins of The Social Register — novels such as Fanny Hill: Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure and The Adventures of Eovaai were the catalysts that sparked an interest in 18th century dynamics, specifically surrounding women’s sexual liberation. Currently, she also publishes work with L.A. Magazine as a print editorial intern.
